Les Urbaines, emerging urban arts festival, Dec 3-5, Lausanne
Running this weekend, 'Les Urbains' festival in Lausanne, Switzerland, is offering a diverse mix of contemporary art events, across the city in unusual public spaces. Cited as being 'interdisciplinary and often undisciplined', the dynamic festival is aiming not only to introduce contemporary art to new audiences, but also facilitate new experiences and new sights of the city. The festival organisers write; 'even if contemporary art intimidates sometimes, curiosity, discovery, enthusiasm and sharing are a universal affair'. Exhibitions, performances, screenings and meetings will all feature. The festival organisers are inviting people to sample emerging arts 'whilst strolling the city, from one often unseen places to another'. For more information about the programme and the artists involved, see the website.
